The project aims will be accomplished through the following activities to be carried out by the national partners:
- Agro Tourism Forum: Discussion platforms will be established in each participating country by the national partner. They will bring together the social partners and key actors in the sector (agricultural authorities, agro tourism institutions, unions of agricultural workers, associations of agro tourism providers, VET institutions and other sectoral players) in order to ensure the participation of the target groups in the evolution of the project.
This will be achieved through short workshops and a conference that will be convened in each participating country with the support of agro tourism “expert centres”. It is expected that their activities will assist the national partners in the identification of best practices in Agrotourism, in the evaluation of the processes, in the project dissemination and ultimately in the valorisation of the outcomes through the Agrotourism Membership Network.
- Research on existing Agrotourism applications in the participating countries, together with a relevant bibliography, in order to compile an inventory of best practices in sustainable tourism. The research will also assist in the audiovisual recording of exemplar practices and the knowledge derived from their analysis.
- Production of Outcomes. This includes development of a website, help with video shooting, script writing and translation, construction of scenarios, multimedia editing, database generation, e-learning software development, assistance with production of an agro-tourism promotional video, development of competence certification, establishment of an agro-tourism membership association and development of an electronic system for on-line client management.
- Pilot testing of the outcomes in selected areas using “mobile workshops” based on facilitators visiting trainees at intervals and coaching them through the e-learning course.
- Workshop meetings of partners to evaluate work in progress, to determine target and for action planning.
- Dissemination and valorisation. There will be an ongoing responsibility to publicise the ideas, the activities and the outcomes of the project. This will include the preparation of press releases, media publication, electronic messaging, lectures, meetings of interested parties, promotional leaflets and other relevant activities.
